25,000 stories of suffering
21bis 25,000 stories of suffering
One of the most important musea of the holocaust in Belgium is located in Mechelen. A tour through the suffering of the Jews during World War II will make you think about the history.
'The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again'. This is a sentence that is written on the door of one of the blocks of the Auschwitz concentration camp. The Jewish Museum of Deportation and Resistance, based in Mechelen, tries to keep alive the history and the suffering of all the Jews in Belgium during World War II and tries to avoid that their lives will be forgotten. It also allows future generations to observe the cruelty and the damage caused to many people.
